Plot: WW2 comedy about a dedicated crew of historians who pretend to be soldiers to recover art stolen by the Nazis.

WINTER’S TALE – Mark Helprin

 

Stars: Colin Farrell, Jessica Brown Findlay, Jennifer Connelly, Will Smith, Russell Crowe, Matt Bomer

Plot: Fantasy tale set in 1916. After a burglar falls in love with an heiress as she dies in his arms, he discovers the ability to bring her back from the dead. Ahhhh, romance.

VAMPIRE ACADEMY – Richelle Mead

 

Stars: Sarah Hyland, Zoey Deutch, Olga Kurylenko, Joely Richardson

Plot: From the director of Mean Girls, a human-vampire hybrid is in training at Vampire Academy to become a protector of the mortal vampire race. Think Twilight crossed with Harry Potter crossed with Mean Girls. Although it’s not really like any of them.

A LONG WAY DOWN – Nick Hornby

 

Stars: Aaron Paul, Imogen Poots, Pierce Brosnan, Toni Collette

Plot: Four strangers end up on the same London rooftop on New Year’s eve ready to commit suicide, but end up making a pact to stay alive and together until at least Valentine’s Day instead. Funny, poignant and heart-warming all at the same time.

DIVERGENT – Veronica Roth

 

Stars: Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Kate Winslet, Zoe Kravitz, Ashley Judd

Plot: Sci-fi set in a world where people are separated into four groups based on their personality traits. Shailene Woodley stars as Tris, who doesn’t fall into any of the groups and is therefore classed as a Divergent. When she uncovers a plan to wipe out all the Divergents, she decides to fight back.

Plot: Tissues at the ready! When two teenagers fall in love at their cancer support group, and the rest is as heart-warming and heart-breaking as you’d imagine.

Plot: Produced by Steven Spielberg and Oprah Winfrey, it is a tale of a rivalry between an Indian restaurant and a three-Michelin-star bistro in the south of France. Guaranteed to make you smile. And hungry.

Plot: Utopian fantasy set in a world without war or pain, where a young boy is chosen to be taught about mankind’s memories of suffering from The Giver.

DARK PLACES – Gillian Flynn

 

Stars: Chloe Grace Moretz, Nicholas Hoult, Charlize Theron, Christina Hendricks

Plot: A woman who survived the brutal killing of her family, for which her brother was convicted, is forced to relive her past for a group of murder-obsessed amateur investigators. And finds her past may not have been as she thought.

THIS IS WHERE I LEAVE YOU – Jonathan Tropper

 

Stars: Rose Byrne, Tina Fey, Adam Driver, Jane Fonda, Dax Shepard, Connie Britton, Jason Bateman

Plot: The story of a Jewish family who are forced to sit down to Shivah together and confront their problems for an entire week as their father’s dying wish. With Jason Bateman, Rose Byrne and Tina Fey on the cast, it’s guaranteed to be LOL-tastic.

THE MAZE RUNNER – James Dashner

Plot: Set in a post-apocalyptic world, a boy wakes up in a maze with zero memory. He must work with the other boys trapped there for any chance at escape from the maze and the monstrous creatures that live there. Fun times!
